Miss Hui O Hawaii San Diego
    2025-2026

    Māhealani Hammond

    About Miss Hui O Hawaii

We are thrilled to present Māhealani Hammond as our Miss Hui O Hawaii of San Diego 2025-2026! Māhealani, the daughter of Kyle Hammond and Koki Southwell, embodies a spirit of aloha and cultural pride that will enrich our community.

Māhealani is a talented hula student at Kūhai Halau O ’Ilima Pa ‘Olapa Kahiko, under the direction of Ilima Kam Martinez. She recently completed her first year at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa and will be continuing her education at Mira Costa College this fall as a sophomore, pursuing a degree in Business. Her goal is to transfer to San Diego State University (SDSU) to complete her Bachelor's in Business Management and potentially pursue a Master's in Sports Management.

In addition to her studies at SDSU, Māhealani plans to pursue an online Associate of Arts degree in Hawaiian Studies through the Hawai’iloa program at Windward Community College. This will allow her to transfer credits from UH Mānoa and continue her dedication to perpetuating Hawaiian culture and ancestral knowledge.

It is important to Māhealani to continue learning about Hawaiian history and culture while living in San Diego. We eagerly look forward to her active participation in various community events and her representation of our beloved Hui throughout her reign.
