 Scholarship Assistance Program


To support, encourage, and give financial assistance to high school graduates and those interested in the pursuit of higher learning who are directly affiliated with the Hui, as members, or dependent children of members in good standing.


The Scholarship Assistance Program is available to any Hui member at least 18 years of age, or a dependent child of a Hui member in good standing.  Applicant must be a resident of San Diego County, and must be a high school graduate entering or attending a university, college, business or vocational school. State of California students must have volunteered at Hui events prior to the scholarship year.  An award recipient shall not receive more than four years of scholarship/educational assistance.


  1. Complete your application online by clicking the link above, or download this Word document to print out and complete.

  2. Submit your personal essay response.

  3. Submit TWO letters of recommendation from:​​

    • Current professional reference (faculty, counselor, teacher, mentor)​

    • Personal reference (community leader, church counselor, etc.            (submit new letters if this is greater than your 2nd year applying)

  4. Submit your most recent official transcript and/or grade report.

  5. Submit a copy of current school registration or letter of acceptance.

  6. Notification will be made to all applicants approximately 60 days after the deadline.

Submit by the deadline!

Submit your completed application, required statements, letters, and references prior to the closing date.  Must be postmarked on or emailed by midnight of April 15th!
